All About the Fully Mobile Experience for Catalyst



Rosetta Stone Catalyst’s fully mobile experience allows you to learn a language entirely from your mobile device. Follow the steps below to start and continue learning on mobile.

Account Set-Up

As a new user, you should receive a welcome email from Rosetta Stone. Open the email on your smartphone or tablet and click the blue “Get Started” button.

*If you do not receive the welcome email within 5 minutes, please check your spam folder. If you still haven’t received it, contact your Rosetta Stone administrator.
 

 



You will now have the option to choose a password, native language, voice type, and time zone. Make sure to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy by checking the box at the bottom left. Then click Agree and Continue.

 

 


If you have already completed your profile on the web but haven’t taken a test yet, go to login.rosettastone.com on your phone’s browser and log in to get started.

Goals Assessment Pre-Test

Now that you have defined your basic preferences, it's time to determine your language goals through a 5-minute Goals Assessment pre-test. This test will appear the first time you log in. Just click “Start” to begin.
 

  
 

You will now be asked a series of questions about the length of time you have studied your chosen language, how you previously learned that language (if applicable), and the goals you would like to achieve through this learning program. Please answer all questions as honestly as you can.

Placement and Proficiency Testing

Once you have taken the pre-test, it will be time to determine which Rosetta Stone product best fits your language needs. 

If you have chosen to learn a language that is not English, Spanish, German, French, or Italian, you will not take the placement test and will automatically be placed into Rosetta Stone Foundations. Skip ahead to the Mobile App Download and Launch section.

For English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian you have two options: Foundations (beginner, CEFR level A1 - A2) and Fluency Builder (intermediate/advanced, CEFR level B1 - C1).

See your chosen language below to determine how this will take place.
 

English, Spanish, French, and German

If you have chosen to learn English, Spanish, French, or German, you will now take a placement test that will assign you to a product and level that is best for you. The test should take between 30-45 minutes to complete.
 

1. Click "Start" to begin.

  
 



2. You will now proceed through three different parts of the test, answering a variety of types of questions as you go.

3. Be sure to turn your sound up, as some questions will require you to listen to a question and/or response.

4. When the test is complete, you will see your score, CEFR level, and a description of your general language abilities at that level. Click "Start Learning" to go to Launchpad.





 

Italian

If you have chosen to learn Italian, you will now take part in a self-assessment that will place you in a product and level that is best for you. The assessment should take about 10 minutes to complete.

1. Click "Start" to begin.

2. You will now be asked a series of questions relating to your comfort and skill level with your chosen language. Please answer these questions as accurately as possible.

3. When you have completely answered all self-assessment questions, you will be given a CEFR level based on your results. Click "Start Learning" to go to Launchpad.

 

Mobile App Download and Launch

From Launchpad, you’ll need to download the mobile app for the product you’ve been placed in to start learning, either Foundations or Fluency Builder. Under the “Get our mobile app!” section, click “Send” and you’ll receive an email with a link to download the correct app.
 




Open the email and click the Download button that is relevant to your device—either "Download on the App Store" for Apple devices or "Get on Google Play" for Android devices.



 


On the landing page, click “Open” when it asks you “Open in App Store?”

The correct app will open in your app store. Click "Get" and it will download.

 

   

 

When it’s finished downloading, open the app and sign in.

Password Reset

If you forget your password, you can reset it yourself on mobile. First, click “Forgot password.”

 

 

Next, fill in your email address and the program will send you an email with a link and instructions to reset your password.

Report Downloads

From Launchpad, you can choose “Export Report” to download an all-time report for your usage and progress.
