If you are learning a language with multiple scripts, click the script buttons at the bottom of the screen to switch between script systems. These options are available on most screens, depending on the activity type.
For Japanese, your options are (from left to right): Kanji/Furigana, Kanji, Hiragana/Katakana, and Romanji.
Note: These options are not available in the reading and writing lessons.
For Chinese, you have the option of learning Simplified or Traditional Chinese. You can change the script through your course settings.
For an Online Subscription:
First enter a lesson and then you will see the gear icon. . Once you enter the settings, click on the Course Settings tab. You will then choose to change your course settings. Click here to continue with how to change the course settings.
For the CD or Digital Download program:
Open the program and continue to the Homescreen. Click on the Gear icon and then Change Settings. Click on the Course tab. You will then choose to Change your course settings.
Upon entering your Course Settings, you will see your two options to learn Chinese.
Once you make your selection, choose Apply Changes.
Within the lessons themselves, you are able to change the scripts while you are actively working on the lesson. At the bottom of the screen, you will see your three options of (from left to right): Traditional/Pinyin, Traditional, and Pinyin.
Note: The only lesson that does not offer this option is the writing lesson which only allows you to write in Pinyin.
