The solution to this issue is to open Internet Options and modifying your settings.

You can access Internet Options:
  • Within Internet Explorer: Tools (upper right - gear/cog icon) > Internet Options > Advanced
  • Through the Start Menu:
    • Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Internet Options>Advanced
    • Windows Vista and 7: Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options>Advanced

  • Scroll to the bottom of the selections.
  • Enable native XMLHTTP support must be checked in this box for the page to load correctly. After checking the box above, select Apply or OK and then refresh the webpage (press F5 or the two blue arrows at the end of the address bar). The page should now load correctly.
If you do not have permission to modify or access this page of Internet Options, please follow your organization’s approved process for local software change requests. In order for learners to utilize all components of Rosetta Stone Foundations, native XMLHTTP must be supported on all learner desktops.
As this is an error exclusive to Internet Explorer, you can try accessing the program in a browser like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to sign in without issues.
