Adobe Flash Player asks to allow or you can't be heard when speaking in Adobe Connect Live Tutoring Sessions

These instructions are designed for IT administrators who can change a configuration file on multiple computers in a single event. If your organization has many computers to update and you cannot change configuration files or can  only do so one computer at a time, Rosetta Stone recommends that this update task be assigned to an IT administrator who can update multiple computers at the same time.

Rosetta Stone users may be prompted to re-authenticate our resource server on their machine. If you are prompted at any point with the below screen by Adobe Flash Player Settings, please click "Allow" and check the box marked "Remember" directly underneath. Please note: Although the message reads "Allow access to your camera and microphone", Rosetta Stone will never access your camera. That is a third party message which is why it references the camera. For global settings see below:

If you are unable to speak into a Rosetta Stone Live Tutoring Session delivered by Adobe Connect and you have already allowed access to, please add to mms.cfg the following line "AVHardwareEnabledDomain =".

To make this change globally, follow these instructions:
If you're a user, please have your local IT staff or system administrator complete these steps.

64-bit Windows - %WINDIR%\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash

Note: The %WINDIR% location represents the Windows system directory, such as C:\WINDOWS.
2. Open the mms.cfg file in a text editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit, and add the entries below:

AVHardwareDisable = 0
AVHardwareEnabledDomain =
AVHardwareEnabledDomain =
AVHardwareEnabledDomain =

Note:  Whitespace is allowed, including blank lines or spaces around equal signs ( = ).

3. Save the file, close all browser windows, and open your browser window again.
4. Sign in to Rosetta Stone and launch the application.
