This message indicates the Rosetta Stone Version 2 client is unable to connect to the Student Management System server.
Here's two ways to fix it:

- Configure the IP and port number on the Student Management System server.
On Windows
- Click Windows Start , All Programs , Rosetta Stone , Student Management System v3.X.X , SMS Service x3.X.X and then Stop SMS Service .
- Click Windows Start , All Programs , Rosetta Stone , Student Management System v3.X.X , and then SMS Configuration .
*The X’s will be your version of SMS . - Click Administrator Only .
- Set Server IP/URL to 127.0.0.1 and Port Number to 8080 .

- Click Set .
- Click Windows Start , All Programs , Rosetta Stone , Student Management System v3.X.X , SMS Service v3.X and then Start SMS Service
- Click Windows Start , All Programs , Rosetta Stone , 2.X.X.XAsms , then Find SMS Servers
- Click Find SMS Server(s) , click the server at 127.0.0.1:8080 and click Select SMS Server .

- Launch Rosetta Stone Version 2 and attempt to login again.
