<p>Can I use Rosetta Stone on my Vista computer?</p><p><span id="bodyfont"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;" id="bodyfont"> <p> We designed Rosetta Stone Version 3 to work with Windows Vista, Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Please check the <a href="http://www.rosettastone.com/global/support/system-requirements">System Requirements</a> for further details.</p> <p> Since we created Rosetta Stone Version 2 before the Vista operating system existed, it was not designed with Vista in mind. With the introduction of Vista, we did additional testing on the latest release of Rosetta Stone Version 2.</p> <p> We have successfully installed, executed and uninstalled the following Rosetta Stone Version 2 components on Windows Vista 32-bit with no known issues:</p> <ol> <li>Application CD version 2.1.5.3 or 2.2</li> <li>Language CD version 6.0 or higher</li> <li>Student Management System version 3.1 or higher</li> <li>Online Subscriptions</li> </ol> <p>Customers with recent versions of Rosetta Stone Personal Edition (version 2.1 - 2.1.5.1) can contact <a href="http://support.rosettastone.com/ics/support/default.asp?%0AdeptID=14006&task=ticket%20">Rosetta Stone Support</a> to request the latest Application CD or install the application on Windows Vista by following the procedure described below.</p> <p><span id="bodyfont2">Unfortunately, there are so many significant changes in the Vista operating system that older versions of Rosetta Stone (such as Explorer, PowerPac, or Application versions 1.7 - 1.9) will not work properly on Vista. Therefore, we will not be able to support these older products on the Vista operating system. For further information regarding support for Windows Vista, please check the <a href="http://www.rosettastone.com/global/support/system-requirements">System Requirements</a> page on our website.</span></p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> Current Rosetta Stone® Version 2 products have been engineered to install and run on the Windows Vista operating system. Some third-party components used in Rosetta Stone Version 2 products have not been certified by Microsoft as <em>Vista Compliant</em>. Accordingly, you may encounter some Vista related operating issues. Rosetta Stone technical support may or may not be able to resolve these Vista related issues. Rosetta Stone hereby disclaims any representations, warranties, guaranties and conditions with respect to the compatibility of the Rosetta Stone products with the Windows Vista operating systems.</p> <h4> To install Rosetta Stone Personal Edition (version 2.0 - 2.1.5.1 A) on Windows Vista:</h4> <p><strong>Note</strong>: If you have Rosetta Stone Version 2.0 you will need to login to your computer as an Administrator </p> <ol> <li>Insert the Application CD</li> <li>When the <em>Autoplay</em> window opens, close it by clicking the red <em>X</em> in the upper right corner</li> <li>Click your Start Menu then click <em>Computer</em></li> <li>In the window that appears, right-click the CD-ROM drive labeled <em>RS_App</em></li> <li>In the menu that appears, click <em>Explore</em> to browse the contents of the Rosetta Stone Application CD</li> <li>In the Explore window, right-click on <em>Setup</em> or <em>Setup.exe</em><br /> </li> <li>In the menu that appears, click <em>Copy</em></li> <li>Go to your desktop and right-click on any empty place</li> <li>In the menu that appears, click <em>Paste</em> to copy <em>Setup</em> from the Application CD to your desktop</li> <li>After <em>Setup</em> is copied to the desktop, right-click on the file and select Run as Administrator</li> <li>On your desktop, double-click <em>Setup</em> to start the installation process</li> <li>Click <em>Allow</em> to continue the installation</li> <li>On the screen where you see the words: <em>The fastest way to learn a language</em>, click <em>OK</em> to install with instructions in English</li> <li>Follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation.
