Rosetta Stone® Reading for Homeschool - Why is it sometimes hard for students to hear the vowel sounds correctly?

Rosetta Stone® Reading for Homeschool includes multiple activities that work on auditory discrimination for exactly this reason – it is hard to discriminate between many vowel sounds – but the ability to do so correctly plays an important role in students’ decoding and spelling skills.

The repeat button is an excellent tool for students to use in these activities, they are not penalized for hearing the word repeated, but they will be marked incorrect if they “guess” the wrong answer.
