Rosetta Stone Homeschool: I use McAfee for Internet security. What settings needs to change for Rosetta Stone to run correctly?

Rosetta Stone Homeschool Edition includes the Student Management System (SMS). The SMS uses TCP/IP to communicate (the same network protocol as the Internet), so your firewall may block certain components that the application needs. Specifically, you may need to adjust your firewall settings so that Java and Macromedia Projector have full access. To do this in McAfee Security Center :

1. Open McAfee Security Center and click Configure.

2. On the Configure menu, click Internet & Network.

3. In Internet & Network Configuration, click Advanced.

4. In the Advanced menu, click Program Permissions.

    • Look for Macromedia Projector in the list of programs, and make sure that the Permissions level is "Full Access"
    • Look for any and all listings of Java, and make sure that the Permissions level of each is "Full Access"
    • Click OK to save the changes and close McAfee
