Version 2 Macromedia Projector Errors

If you receive Macromedia Projector error while launching Rosetta Stone, or if the program does not load beyond our logo, then Rosetta Stone may not be able to read the Language CD.

Here's how to fix it:

Place the program into compatibility mode:

  1. Click Windows Start, All Programs, Rosetta Stone, RS2.X.X.X, and then right-click on Rosetta Stone and click Properties .
  2. Click on the Compatibility tab and click Properties.
  3. Check the box to Run this program in compatibility mode for and click Windows NT 4.0(Service Pack 5) .
  4. Click OK .
  5. Attempt to open Rosetta Stone. If you receive the same error then proceed to the next section.

Uninstall any CD emulation software:

If there is any CD emulation software installed that you don't need, then we recommend uninstalling it.

  1. Click Windows Start , and then Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and then Uninstall a Program).
  3. Look for any CD emulation software , such as Roxio or Nero.
  4. Click it and click Remove (or right-click and Uninstall/Remove).
  5. Attempt to open Rosetta Stone. If you receive the same error then proceed to the next section.

Update your computer's CD/DVD-ROM drivers:

  1. Click Windows Start .
  2. Right-click on My Computer (Or Computer) and click Manage .
  3. Double-click on Device Manager .
  4. Double-click DVD/CD ROM Drives.
  • If your CD-ROM drive is TSST CORP TS-L532B , then contact your computer's manufacturer to update the driver.
  • If your CD-ROM drive is Samsung CD-RW SN 324B , then contact your computer's manufacturer to update the driver.
