Language Learning stalls at "Checking your information." How do I fix this?

If the user progress file is corrupt, the Rosetta Stone Version 4 CD-Rom or Digital Download program may stall at "Checking your information". To fix the problem, the user progress file will need to be re-created.
 

Here's how to fix it: 

If you are using Rosetta Stone TOTALe, please click here.

If you are using Rosetta Stone Language Learning, please click here.

If you are using Rosetta Stone TOTALe please follow the steps below.

If you are using Windows XP, please click here.

If you are using Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10, please click here.

If you are using Mac OS X, please click here.

 

In Windows XP

    1. Click Windows Start , and then My Computer .
    2. Double-click the (C:) drive , Documents and Settings , and then All Users .
    3. From then menu, click Tools and then Folder options .
    4. Click the View tab.
    5. From the list, select Show hidden files and folders , and click OK .

    6. Double-click Application Data , Rosetta Stone , and then TOTALe .
    7. Right-click on the tracking.db3 file and click Delete .
    8. Close the folder window.
    9. Double-click Rosetta Stone TOTALe on your desktop.
    10. Follow the prompts to create a learner.
On Windows Vista , 7, 8, or 10.
  1. Press the Windows Key and at the same time to bring up the run command.
  2. Type: %programdata% and press Enter .

  3. A list of folders will appear. Double-click Rosetta Stone and then TOTALe .
  4. Right-click on the "tracking.db3" file and click Delete .
  5. Close the folder window.
  6. Launch Rosetta Stone from your desktop.
  7. Follow the prompts to create a learner.
On Mac OS X
  1. Click Finder on your dock.
  2. From the menu bar click Go and then Computer .
  3. Click Mac HD , Library , Application Support , Rosetta Stone and then TOTALe .
  4. Control + click on tracking.db3 and click Move to trash .
  5. From the menu bar, click Go and then Applications .
  6. Double-click on Rosetta Stone TOTALe .
  7. Follow the prompts to create a learner.
