I'm having speech difficulties and have Skype on my computer.

The Skype plug-in has been known to cause difficulties with our Speech Recognition Engine when using Rosetta Course, Rosetta Studio and Rosetta World in Rosetta Stone Language Learning.

Some of the symptoms you may experience are:

  • Unable to pass the microphone setup when entering Language Training or Live Tutoring
  • Speech does not respond properly in Language Training and Games & Activities
By default, when installing Skype, it installs the Skype plug-in into your web browser. The below steps will show you how to disable the plug-in from your web browser.

Please Note: Disabling the Skype plug-in in your web browser does not remove the Skype program from your computer. You can still use Skype as you normally would.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, please click here
If you are using Google Chrome, please click here
