I receive a gray screen when I launch Rosetta Stone Language Learning on my Mac.

An incompatibility between Rosetta Stone Language Learning and a language setting will cause Rosetta Stone to freeze at a gray screen. This guide walks you through disabling the language setting and opening Language Learning.

Here's how to fix it:

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left and then System Preferences .
  2. Click Language & Text (or International for OS X 10.5 and below).
  3. Click Edit list...
  4. Uncheck Espanol Latinoamerica .
  5. Click OK .
  6. Click the Finder icon on your dock.
  7. From the menu, click Go and then Applications.
  8. Double-click Rosetta Stone to open the program.
