I installed an update for Language Learning CD-ROM or Download and lost my progress

If an update failed while installing, your progress may have been removed from your computer.  Your progress can be retrieved by the following methods:
  1. Re-create your progress file, and allow your progress to sync from your online profile
  2. Attempt to find a backed up progress file
If you upgraded to a new version of TOTALe, click here.
If you upgraded to Language Learning, click here.

If you are using Rosetta Stone TOTALe please follow the steps below:

If you’re on Windows XP, click here.
If you’re on Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10, click here.
 
If you’re using Windows XP, follow the instructions below:
First, sync your progress from your learner profile:
  1. Click Windows Start, and then Run.
  2. Type: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe and press Enter.
  3. Right-click tracking.db3 and click Rename.
  4. Rename the file to tracking1.db3 and press Enter.
  5. Leave the folder window open, and launch Rosetta Stone TOTALe.
  6. You’ll be prompted to create a new learner.  Be sure to enter the same email and password as your original learner profile.
  7. Once you load to the Homescreen, your progress should be restored.
  8. If the issue persists, then proceed to the next section.
Next try to replace the progress file with a backup:
  1. Open the TOTALe folder.
  2. Right-click and delete tracking.db3.
  3. Click Windows Start, and then Run.
  4. Type: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\RosettaStoneLtdBackup and press Enter.
  5. Copy the newest created tracking00000.db3 file.
  6. Go back to the TOTALe folder.
  7. Right-click and click Paste.
  8. Right click on the tracking.db3 file, click Rename, and rename the file to “tracking.db3”.  Press Enter.
  9. Open Rosetta Stone TOTALe.  Your learners and their progress should appear. 
If you’re using Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 10 follow the instructions below:
First, sync your progress from your learner profile:
  1. Press the Windows key and at the same time to bring up the run command.
  2. Type: C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe and press Enter.
  3. Right-click tracking.db3 and click Rename.
  4. Rename the file to tracking1.db3 and press Enter.
  5. Leave the folder window open, and launch Rosetta Stone TOTALe.
  6. You’ll be prompted to create a new learner.  Be sure to enter the same email and password as your original learner profile.
  7. Once you load to the Homescreen, your progress should be restored.
  8. If the issue persists, then proceed to the next section.

  6. You’ll be prompted to create a new learner.  Be sure to enter the same email and password as your original learner profile.
  7. Once you load to the Homescreen, your progress should be restored.
  8. If the issue persists, then proceed to the next section.

  2. Right-click and delete tracking.db3.
  3. Click Windows Start, and then Run.
  4. Type: C:\ProgramData\RosettaStoneLtdBackup and press Enter.

  6. Go back to the Language Training folder.
  7. Right-click and click Paste.
  8. Right click on the tracking.db3 file, click Rename, and rename the file to “tracking.db3”.  Press Enter.
  9. Open Rosetta Stone Language Learning.  Your learners and their progress should appear.
