How to allow Adobe Flash in your browser

Internet browsers can block Adobe Flash which is a component required in accessing Rosetta Stone in a browser. Use this article to allow Adobe Flash in your browser.

Select your browser:

On a Windows Computer: On a Mac Computer  

Windows: Google Chrome

You see "Right-click to run Adobe Flash Player"

  1. Right-click the puzzle piece
  2. Select "Run this plugin" to enter the application

You see "Adobe Flash Player not found" at the system checker

  1. Click on "Click to enable Adobe Flash Player"
  2. At the top left click "Allow" to Run Flash
    Note: If you then see another puzzle piece, follow these steps

Windows: Mozilla Firefox

You see "Allow http://totale.rosettastone.com to run Adobe Flash?"

  1. Click "Allow and Remember" 

If you aren't prompted with the dialog box but still see the message, click on the gray lego piece located in the left of the address bar to get the prompt.

You see "No Flash Player Detected" or "Click to use Flash"

  1. Click on the three bars at the top right for a menu
  2. Click "Addons"
  3. Click the dropdown for "Shockwave Flash" and select Ask to activate
  4. Close the Plugins tab and refresh the page for Rosetta Stone
    Note: If you're prompted to allow Adobe Flash, follow these steps.

Windows: Microsoft Edge

You see "No Flash Player Detected"

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the browser
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Scroll down and click "View Advanced Settings"
  4. Click to turn on "Use Adobe Flash Player"
  5. Refresh the Rosetta Stone page to enter the application

Windows: Opera

Opera is not a supported browser. Please view our System Requirements for supported browsers.


Mac: Safari

You see "No Flash Player Detected" or "Click to use Flash"

  1. Click Ok on the "No Flash Player detected" prompt
  2. Click "Click to use Flash"
  3. Click "Use Every Time" to allow Flash use on the Rosetta Stone website
You see "Click to use Flash" at the System Checker

  2. Then click "Use Every Time"
    Note: If you then see another puzzle piece, follow these steps

Mac: Google Chrome

You see "Control-click to run Adobe Flash Player"

  1. Hold "Control" on your keyboard
  2. Click the puzzle piece
  3. Select "Run this plugin" to enter the application

You see "Adobe Flash Player not found" at the system checker

  2. Click "Manage Plugins"
  3. Click the dropdown for "Shockwave Flash" and select "Ask to activate"
  4. Close the Plugins tab and refresh the page for Rosetta Stone
  5. Click the lego piece at the top left and select "Allow and Remember"

You see "Allow http://totale.rosettastone.com to run Adobe Flash?"

  1. Click "Allow..." in the notification
  2. Then click "Allow and Remember"
  3. Refresh the page to enter the Rosetta Stone application

Mac: Opera
