How do I back up progress in Rosetta Stone Version 3?

Please click on a link above to see instructions specific to your operating system.


On Windows XP


1. Click on the Start Menu
2. Then click Run.
3. In the box type %applicationdata% and press Enter on your keyboard.
4. Open the Rosetta Stone folder
5. Right-click on the tracking.db3 file
6. Select Copy
7. Right-click on your Desktop and choose Paste
8. This will make a copy of the tracking.db3 file on your Desktop

On Windows Vista and 7


1. Click on the Start Menu
2. Then type %programdata% in the search box and press Enter on your keyboard.
3. Open the Rosetta Stone folder
4. Right-click on the tracking.db3 file
5. Select Copy
6. Right-click on your Desktop and choose Paste
7. This will make a copy of the tracking.db3 file on your Desktop

On Windows 8 or 10


1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard, and start typing Run and press Enter on your keyboard.
2. In the box type %programdata% and press Enter on your keyboard.
3. Open the Rosetta Stone folder, and click into Rosetta Stone Version 3.
4. Right-click on the tracking.db3 file
5. Select Copy 
6. Right-click on your Desktop and choose Paste 
7. This will make a copy of the tracking.db3 file on your Desktop

On Mac OS X


1. Open your Mac HD hard drive icon on your Desktop
    Note: If you do not have a Mac HD icon, Open Finder and select your Mac HD.
    2. Open the Library folder
    3. Open the Application Support folder
    4. Open the Rosetta Stone Version 3 folder
    Control + click on the tracking.db3 file
      (This will open a secondary window)
      5. Choose Copy tracking.db3
      6. Control + click on your Desktop
        (This will open a secondary window)
        7. Choose Paste Item
        8. This will make a copy of the tracking.db3 file on your Desktop
