How can I resolve error 1129?

Error 1129 occurs due to missing or corrupted language content in the Rosetta Stone Language Learning program.

To resolve the issue, you must delete the Content folder and reinstall your language level(s):

If you are using Rosetta Stone TOTALe, please click here.
If you are using Rosetta Stone Language Learning, please click here.
 

If you are using Rosetta Stone Language Learning

 
To delete the Content Folder
  • For Mac, Open Finder, and select Go from the top menu bar. Then click Computer from the drop down. Click Macintosh HD and follow the path /Library/Application Support/Rosetta Stone/Language Training/ and move the Content folder you find inside the Language Training Folder to the trash
 
  • For Windows 7: Click the Start button and then type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Click on Language Training folder and delete the Content folder you find in the Language Training folder. - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\Language Training\Content\
 
  • For Windows 8: Press the Windows button on your keyboard and type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Then click on Language Training folder and delete the Content folder you see in the Language Training folder.  - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\Language Training\Content\
 
  • For Window 10:  Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key + S and type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Then click on Language Training folder and delete the Content folder you see in the Language Training folder.  - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\Language Training\Content\
  1. Open Rosetta Stone
  2. Click the gear icon at the top right and select Manage Languages
  3. Click Add a language level
  4. Insert your language level CD (There is a green circle around the interior)
  5. Click continue
  6. Click Install selected language
  7. If prompted, click yes to reinstall the language level
  8. Repeat steps 2-7 until all language levels have been reinstalled.
  9. Click on your learner name in the program and you should advance further without receiving the error message.
 

If you are using Rosetta Stone TOTALe

 

To delete the Content Folder
  • For Mac: Open Finder, and select Go from the top menu bar. Then click Computer from the drop down. Click Macintosh HD and follow the path /Library/Application Support/Rosetta Stone/TOTALe/ and move the Content folder you find inside the TOTALe Folder to the trash
 
  • For Windows 7: Click the Start button and then type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Click on the TOTALe folder and delete the Content folder you find in the TOTALe folder. - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe\
 
  • For Windows 8: Press the Windows button on your keyboard and type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Then click on the TOTALe folder and delete the Content folder you see in the Content folder.  - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe\Content\
 
  • For Window 10:  Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key + S and type %ProgramData%\Rosetta Stone and press Enter. Then click on the TOTALe folder and delete the Content folder you see in the Language Training folder.  - C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe\Content\
  1. Open Rosetta Stone
  2. Click the circle with three lines at the top right and select Add or Remove Languages
  3. Click Add a language level
  4. Insert your language level CD (There is a green circle around the interior)
  5. Click continue
  6. Click Install selected language
  7. If prompted, click yes to reinstall the language level
  8. Repeat steps 2-7 until all language levels have been reinstalled.
  9. Click on your learner name in the program and you should advance further without receiving the error message.
