Error 2126: Database is out of date and could not be updated

You may receive error 2126 when launching the program.

This error may occur after upgrading your Version 3 program to Rosetta Stone Language Learning.

To fix this, we just need to rename the tracking file.

On Windows XP

  1. Click the Start button and then click Run. Type: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe\
  2. Right-click on tracking.db3 and click Rename.
  3. Name the file to tracking1.db3
Note:  After renaming this file, your course progress won't be available in Rosetta Stone.  Unfortunately, this is necessary since the file is probably corrupt and not repairable.
  4. Open Rosetta Stone.

On Windows Vista or 7

  1. Click the Start button and in the search type: C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\TOTALe or Language Training
  2. Right-click on tracking.db3 and click Rename.
  3. Name the file to tracking1.db3
*Note:  This file contains your user progress, and it will not be read by the program once you rename it.  This is  necessary if your user progress file is corrupt.
  4. Open Rosetta Stone.

On Windows 8

  1. Press the Windows Key User-added image
  2. Type: C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\Language Training
  3. Right-click on tracking.db3 and click Rename.

*Note:  This file contains your user progress, and it will not be read by the program once you rename it.  This is  necessary if your user progress file is corrupt.
  5. Open Rosetta Stone.

On Windows 10

  1. Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key +S to open Search.
  2. Type: C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\Language Training
  3. Right-click on tracking.db3 and click Rename.
  4. Name the file to tracking1.db3
*Note:  This file contains your user progress, and it will not be read by the program once you rename it.  This is  necessary if your user progress file is corrupt.
