Discover Languages by Rosetta Stone
Discover Languages on Xbox One immerses you in a virtual environment where you're always at the center of the action. You'll jet off to interesting locations and interact with a variety of characters and objects in your new language. As you continue exploring and engaging in conversation, you gain the skills and confidence to progress to the next level. In addition to real-world conversations, you get games, translations, and study modules to round out your learning experience.
Just complete the registration process and you'll go directly to the start screen. We ask for your email address so we can let you know about updates and exciting new products.
The Discovery Center is the interactive environment where you encounter characters and objects in your chosen language.
When you select an object, you'll see the name of that object and have the opportunity to hear it spoken. A Storybook is a special type of object that provides a story.
You can freely move around a location, exploring vocabulary and completing conversations. To go to another location, you first need to find and complete the conversation that unlocks the new location.
A maximum of two people can play in the Discovery Center. In this case both players follow the same path.
To return to previous locations, follow the navigation hotspots in the interactive world or go to your Journal.
The Journal is a log of your progress and achievements. You can see your progress by location and quickly find pieces of the story that you've already unlocked.
The Training Zone is a collection of study modules, mini-games, and other learning resources.
A maximum of two people can play the mini-games. In this case they'll play against each other.
Phrase Book is a translation dictionary that you can access any time within the Discovery Center. To see the Phrase Book, press Y on your controller.
Q: Can I repeat a conversation?
A: Yes. At the end of a conversation, you'll have the opportunity to repeat it. You can access this same conversation from your Journal. You can also revisit a character in the Discovery Center to repeat a conversation.
Q: What types of conversations can I have?
A: You can find someone to talk to in every location. Your responses in the conversation will be handled by selecting letters, a word, or a phrase to fill in the blank; inserting words in the proper sequence to complete a response; or free choice where any answer is correct. In multi-player mode, the conversations are turn-based.
Q: If I get an answer wrong within a conversation, can I give a new answer?
A: Yes. You get two chances to answer. Then we'll give the correct answer. If you really struggle with a conversation, feel free to go through it again.
Q: Can I review past statements mid-conversation?
Q: What if I don't know how to answer a question?
A: You can get help from your Phrase Book, a translation dictionary that you can access at any time within the Discovery Center.
Q: How do I unlock a feature that's locked?
A: Unlock a new location by completing conversations in your current location.
Q: How do Achievements work?A: Achievements are rewards for completing activities or getting something correct. Go to your Journal to see how you're progressing.
